Kennet Valley TR Group have a great day at Littlewick Green Classic

Five KVG cars made it to the Littlewick Green Show on Bank Holiday Monday, and enjoyed a pleasant day, after the storms of the Sunday. We had Fiona's TR5 , fresh from its success at the International, plus Bill's TR6, Joe & Wendy and Paul & Joyce's TR4As, and Emrhys & Linda's Stag.

The show was its usual relaxed self, being a combination of horse show, car show and country show. It is held on the site of the original Knowl Hill Steam Rally, one of the major events of the traction engine calendar, that sadly ceased 15 years ago or so.

The classic car element is superbly organised by the Austin Seven Owners Club, and always attracts a wide spread of cars, including a good number of 1920s – 50s cars, not just Austin Sevens, which add a lot to the interest.

Add to these a collection of American cubic inches and muscle, and you had a good selection to browse round. One that caught the eye was a 1950s 3.5 Jaguar Mk V, with one of the most original number plates you will ever see.

Our Triumphs created a lot of interest, with several people spending a long time talking to us about them, and at least two couples planning to come to the next club meeting to get more information on buying one, particularly a TR6 and Stag.

Many Thanks for the pictures by Fiona Farrell, and words by Emrhys Barrell
