Kennet Valley TR Group Social Scene - Issue 302

Headline News at the Kennet Valley Group is that we have won the coveted TR Register Webpage award for 2017 for the most up to date and fully utilised Club webpages. A big "WELL DONE" to Phil Horsley – Group Leader for all his hard work updating the pages and to the Members for supplying the articles. So go and visit the best webpages on this site.

Breaking news, as I type this report in early November, is that Bill and Fiona's rebuilt TR5 ("Patience") has got an MOT, Historic Exempt status and is back "On the Road" after many years!! Well Done. See details at TR5 Patience Rebuild.

As Karen Woolnough said in the last TR Action there is a wealth of knowledge amongst the KVG members so if you haven't been to our club night you should come along. Club Night is not just all talk about our cars and clever tweaks and modifications. We have some very interesting and diverse talks. For the November club night Neil Carter from Reading and West Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service gave a presentation and demonstration of CPR and familiarised members with the use of defibrillators.

KVG members attend many shows and a favourite for many years has been the Shalbourne Classic Car Show. Sadly, this year, a "Yellow" weather warning of strong winds and rain caused the event to be cancelled. The weather was far kinder with a fine and sunny day when members joined other classic marques at Classic Saturday at The Cottage, Upper Bucklebury. We hope to revisit this monthly event in November. Also in October several members supported the 11th Thatcham Classic Show which, despite occasional light showers, had an excellent display of a wide variety of vehicle types and helped raise money for The Rosemary Appeal, a local charity.

Phil Horsley and the KVG committee would like wish all members a very Happy Christmas and we send our best wishes for the New Year. We hope to see both old and new faces at the regular club nights in 2018. Please note that the first club night of 2018 will be on Wednesday 10th January. Date change to give members more time to recover from the festivities!
