Glavon and Wye Dean Groups Drive-it Day Run - 21st April 2024

It started off a chilly and cloudy morning for the drive to the rendezvous for members of both groups at The Silver Fox Cafe on the banks of the River Severn near Newnham. 

After breakfasts and coffees it was off on a lovely route through the northern part of the Forest of Dean and on into rolling Gloucestershire and Herefordshire countryside. It wasn't long before the sun came out and the countryside really looked its best in its springtime new colours. The roads were surprisingly quiet but we did see a number of other classic car groups along the way with lots of enthusiastic waving, including a lovely group of Citroen 2CVs lolloping along! A coffee stop was made at The Hop Pocket Garden Centre Garden Centre Cafe at Bishops Frome, midway between Hereford and Worcester where there was plenty of time for a spot of retail therapy! It was then onwards through more glorious sunlit scenery to the final destination of The Red Lion at Huntley for an excellent three-course lunch. A great day out was had by all and thanks go to Caroline and Jeff for organising it.
