Glavon Group - Tulip Tour - 13th September 2020

Noel and Ange Jones' much anticipated Tulip Tour in early September was a resounding success, helped in no small measure by hot sunny weather and the magnificent scenery of the English and Welsh border country including the beautiful Wye Valley. Impeccable preparation paid off, not only in terms of the route itself, but with the chosen refreshment venues which were all fully Covid-compliant and each providing us with our own reserved parking areas.

Meeting at a garden centre west of Gloucester for breakfasts and coffee, the route took us towards Hereford, over The Wye and on to Raglan Garden Centre for a coffee stop before heading off on a final leg to the Royal Oak at Wotton Under Edge for an excellent late lunch in the restaurant which had been reserved for our sole use. In the car park, the cars glistened in the sunshine and attracted much interest from those enjoying the beautiful weather in the beer garden. The choice of date was very lucky as further restrictions were intrduced the day after which would have prevented the event from taking place.

Many thanks to Noel and Ange for all their hard work in organising the event (four recce runs!!) and congratulations on being nominated for a well deserved Clubmans Award at the TR Register AGM. Congratulations also to John and Yvonne Walker who were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
