East Riding Group Report - February 2024
Sadly we lost long standing group member Clive Thornes in 2023. In January Roger & Anita attended a brass band concert at their local church, the band was The Hull City Brass Band which is supported by the ex MD of East Yorkshire Motor Services and a resident of the village, Clive too was a supporter of the band. The concert included the presentation of awards to band members for outstanding performance during the previous year and it was great to see the award for the best trumpet player of the year was awarded in the name of Clive Thornes. Clive was very much into brass bands and enjoyed attending events whenever he could as well as helping with encouragement and funding, Good to see Clive will always be remembered by the band as well as our group - Clive was a great supporter of Triumph TR’s here and in the US and will be missed.
Roger & Anita Myers, Martyn & Jill Bell and Paul & Janet Ash represented the East Yorkshire Group and attended the Derbyshire Dales Post Christmas dinner travelling down on the Saturday for a meal, music and dancing at the Makeney Hall Hotel in Belper staying overnight and returning Sunday. A very good night was had by all but unfortunately no photos to share.
No TR run for East Riding Group in February however Andy Newton kindly arranged a visit for all members to Elvington Air Museum near York, a very enjoyable day out with lunch for all. Weather was lousy hence the reason no TR’s except for Tim Robinson who braved the weather and even had his TR4 hood down all day!

Tuesday 5 March 2024 - our monthly meeting at The Altisidora, Bishop Burton 7:30pm. All members and guests old and new welcome. Bring your car, come for a meal or just a drink and chat.
Sunday 17 March 2024 (note a week later than normal due to Mothers Day)
Cobwebs Run - our first opportunity to get all the cars out and give them a run and meet up for lunch. Organised by Roger & Anita Myers who can be contacted on 01482 665331. Meet at Deep Dale lay-by near Bishop Burton for 10:30 set off.
