EasTRiding Social Scene Report for September 2019

Sunday 8th September was sunny and dry. Andy & Marlene Newton had organized our monthly run along the Wolds, to a pause in Thornton le Dale, before continuing onwards through Hackness and Silpho, before lunching at the Downe Arms, Wykeham. We had a dozen TRs out for this one in lovely Autumn weather. The weather was a serious improvement on what we’d suffered in Ireland. John Sherburn had brought Chris out on this run to celebrate her birthday with us. It was also Shane Foster’s birthday, but they were heading for Angouleme. Well done Andy & Marlene, especially as this was the second run that they’d volunteered for this year.
With Autumn approaching some of us are looking to hang on to the sun a little longer with our TRs. We have a three TRs heading off to Angouleme, whilst another couple of TRs are heading for northern Spain and the TRR International event. We are heading for the Med and the roads of Corsica. We’ll see if they live up to their reputation of spectacle and poor surfaces.
