TR Action 339

TR Action 339

Lots of events and activities in Devon area in addition to our regular meetings - We had a good display of TRs at the Morwellham Quay Show, on Father’s Day, despite a bit of rain in the morning. This was followed the next weekend where a few more displayed their cars at Totnes Rotary’s Staverton Show where there was a good overall display of TRs and other marques, even a good number of exotic V12 engined cars although I did hear a few comments about the cost of fuel, as it’s just hit £2/litre!

And not to be deterred, after a couple of years in the planning, an intrepid pair of Devon members, Pete Stewart and Dennis Hobbs, completed their own ‘coast to coast’ event. Starting from Exmouth on the Devon coast and arriving at Inverness before setting out around the northern coast of Scotland, otherwise known as the NC500, some days later in Pete’s well prepared TR4. Completing the route in an anticlockwise direction, they had a great time, stopping overnight along the route and without any car issues. With so much stunning scenery along the way, they do suggest allowing seven days to make the most of it and Dennis is already saying that they’ll do it again in a clockwise direction next time to make the most of the views in the other direction.

Classic LeMans – this weekend sees another group of Devon members, popping across to France for the Classic LeMans, following a couple of previous COVID cancellations. The weather in Devon wasn’t particularly nice, as they set off, so we hope that it improved along the way and the tents stayed waterproof!

We’re always grateful for help to arrange a lunch or other event, so please do get in touch with Paul or myself to share your ideas. Until next time, Alan
