TR Action 333

It has been quite a busy month. As Autumn beckons we have managed to squeeze in not one but two picnics. These being at Trenchford and Meldon reservoirs where we were pleased to welcome new members to our group; Nick & Les who’ve just purchased a TR2, having previously owned and enjoyed one extensively in earlier years, and also Basil from North Devon with his TR3, who was introduced by Steve as they are both members of the North Devon Classic Car Club too.

We had a bumper turn out at our Thursday night meeting in September, with 22 members coming along on a lovely evening, from all corners of the county. It was nice to meet new members Peter & Linda from Plymouth who came along to ask a few question about their newly acquired TR6, whilst Maggie from Ilminster, who has been busy for years restoring her TR4, wanted a few pointers too. It was lovely to see you all.

Earlier in the month, we were lucky enough to have a TR Register Hillclimb event at Wiscombe Park, near Honiton. This was well supported by Devon TR members on the day which saw a good variety of clubs and vehicles attempting the hill.

During September a number of us attended the postponed car show at Staverton, arranged by the Totnes Rotary club. It was a lovely sunny day with many clubs and different vehicles on display. It was a chance to lift the bonnet on Mark & Jo’s newly acquired TR6 and the verdict is – very nice too.

I would normally be planning for our Devon Group AGM at the beginning of November to round off the year of activities but for a number of reasons, I’ve decided to bump this on to the start of next year. One reason is that this will once more coincide with the club’s own AGM which will also move to March/April time following the change to our financial year, approved at the EGM at Malvern.

However, I am hoping that we can arrange a Christmas lunch this year, so please look out for details and your invitation by email.
