TRA316 – Devon Group
Once again, the Powderham Historic Vehicle Gathering proved to be an excellent weekend event with Devon members representing a number of Clubs as well as helping out as part of the Crash Box team to ensure everything went smoothly. We filled our allocated space with TRs on both days and spoke to a few new and potential members too, having had a number of interesting discussions with visitors to our display, with some interested in owning a TR and some who had one or more TRs at home in their garage, yet aren’t in the Register.
On Sunday 21st August we had a most enjoyable drive with 11 TRs meandering through the lanes in Devon and along the Exe Valley, having gathered for coffee at the Tiverton Canal Café before going on for a popular Sunday Lunch at The Anchor Inn at Exebridge - all kindly arranged by Peter & Sarah, so thank you both.
Coming up shortly is our own TR international weekend at Stratford on Avon and a number of Devon members are attending and camping, did you go this year?
Also, later in the month, we will have had a return skittles match against the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. We were victorious last year but they say they’ve been practising so will we have been able to hold on to the honour?
Our next Thursday night meeting will be on 5 September at The Kings Arms, Tedburn St Mary, as will our October meeting but this will be our last one here for the year. Our Friday meetings have also seen a change of venue but having ‘tried’ the Globe Inn at Sampford Peverell, we’re going back to the Halfway House at Willand for August, September and October. The locations of these meetings for 2020 will be discussed at our AGM in November, so if you’ve got some views or ideas, please let me know or come along on the 7 November.
Planning well ahead, we’ve already filled the 46 places available for our Devon Group Christmas lunch in December at Buckland Tout Saints, so well done everyone.
