Our next meeting will be this coming Wednesday evening, 6th March, at The Peacock in Henton, OX39 4AH. Do come and join us if you can.
We have been reminded of two local events that are now up and running again. The Six Bells at Warborough, there is an evening meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 5.30pm April onwards. A remarkable gathering, with at least 80 cars sometimes, and some very unusual ones.
Also, at The Lord Nelson at Brightwell Baldwin, a breakfast meeting on the second Saturday of the month, much smaller, maybe 10-15 cars. From 9.30-12 March onwards.
An event that we have not been to for some time is the Fawley Hill Steam and Vintage Festival to be held on Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th May. For those of you who have not been before, the Fawley Hill estate is near Henley and was the home of the late Willam McAlpine and feature a full-size steam railway in the palatial grounds. Lastly, it is my painful duty to tell you that Mike Fenton passed away in the early hours of last Thursday after a brave battle that he sadly could not win. Such a lovely guy, with a great sense of humour, good fun and kind to all. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to have known him. Our thoughts are with Anne and the families at this very difficult time.
