Chiltern TR Group - News 16th March 2023

Dear Friends

For the many of you who have booked to visit the Aston Martin Heritage Trust this coming Saturday, the following message contains all the necessary information. We are grateful to Aidan for the time and effort that he has put into arranging the visit.

Dear Chiltern TR Colleagues,

Visit to Aston Martin Heritage Trust Museum followed by lunch – Saturday 18th March

For those joining us in the visit to the Aston Martin Heritage Trust Museum next Saturday 18th March, a brief reminder of the details:

The museum’s address is:

Aston Martin Heritage Trust

Drayton St Leonard

Oxfordshire

OX10 7BG

(Phone No 01865-400414)

The museum’s website is at www.amht.org.uk.

Drayton St Leonard is a small village located to the north of Benson, to the south of Stadhampton and to the east of Berinsfield.

We have block booked the museum for the timed session of 10:00am to 12 noon and our very knowledgeable host on the day will be Dom Walker, who he is looking forward to seeing us.

The admission fees (payable individually on the day) are £7.00 per person, or £5.00 per person (concession) for the over 60’s. The museum has delicately advised that they will not be asking for proof of age.

For those living either close to, or to the south, the east or the west of Drayton St Leonard, I would suggest that we meet you at the museum just before 10:00am.

For those living in and around the Thame area and who would like to drive there together, we will meet at the Thame Esso Garage services (located just off the Thame ring road close to the roundabout junction of the B4011 Long Crendon/Bicester road and the A418 Aylesbury road) at 9:30am, to depart from there at 9:35am.

To date, there will be 29 of us visiting the museum.

Lunch:

I would envisage us leaving the museum at around 11:45am and to make the two minute drive along to The Wandering Kitchen Lakeside café at Queenford Lakes (Postcode OX10 7PQ) for lunch, where we are booked in for midday and where we have already pre-ordered our choices. There is ample safe parking here and the café’s website is at www.thewanderingkitchen.co.uk.

I look forward to seeing you next Saturday.

Best regards

Aidan
