Bristol Classic Car Show
Another successful year for TRs at the Bristol Classic Car Show, this year being a joint effort with Somerset Triumphs with Mario Hickley's (Somerset Group Leader) TR6 on the stand. There is a bit of organising for this event so I'll start by thanking all those involved in setting up and manning our joint stand with Somerset Triumphs. And, congratulations to Tony Luffman for winning a Highly Commended rosette for his rather stunning supercharged TR4. Particular thanks go to Tony for providing his car and Bob Sackley who covered 190 miles on the Friday collecting the Show Kit from Didcot and taxiing people around.
Tony was presented with a cup from the organisers for his TR4; well some mugs actually, the silverware was for another winner.
We had a good level of interest in the stand and may have gained another six new members for TR Register groups in the area.
By the way – there is a lesson to be learned on wristbands. They do provide entry for exhibitors on both days. But if you are leaving your wristband for someone else to use on the Sunday it is essential the show staff cut them off the Saturday team at the Trade Gate on exit as they will put another wristband aside for the Sunday Team.If you cut them off yourself and just hand them in they will be binned and the Sunday Team will have to buy a ticket to get in.
