heliguy
Well, i have removed the wiring harness from the 250 today, all the instruments are out, the fascia is off etc, etc, etc. It is getting very close to the time to remove the body. I still have to make up a couple of door braces, but the sills look in very good shape. I was wondering about the sill end caps though..................how are the attached to the sill? There is so much black goo it makes it very hard to tell. I would like to remove them before the car goes for "dipping". thanks in advance.... Mitch
jerrytr5
End caps are welded in. Usually just a few spot welds. If they really are in good condition you might be better off drilling holes in them rather than total removal. What are you dipping the body in? Jerry
heliguy
Jerry, I am not sure of the exact chemical make up but it is a caustic solution. Redi-Strip is the name of the company in Canada and i have talked to a few people who have used them and they are pleased with the results. I am not sure if I will have them zinc phosphate the tub once its stripped but i am leaning towards that process as well. Thanks for the info on the caps, cheers, Mitch
