Technical Tip 1001 - lock striker plate

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

this is a simple one but I had to scratch my head before the penny dropped.

I needed to remove and fit a new right hand striker plate  Plate.

The attachment screws are rather short and the attachment plate, inside the 'B' post moves about. TRying to align the parts was testing. Not enough room to see what is going on.

My simple fix was to use much longer screws ( 2 - 3" long). With these you now have the room to get a thin screwdriver behind the plate to shift the attachment

plate around and get all the screws started. Once started you can now fit the correct screws.
