I'm going to look at a potential purchase, a 1980 TR7 soft top. Can anyone tell me the size of the socket that fits the crankshaft nut? ( the car's been sitting for a long time and I want to turn the engine over, if possible)

Thanks!

Alex

Hi Alex, take the plugs out and squirt some oil into each cylinder - leave overnight to soak and drain, then put battery on and crank over in 10 - 15 second bursts until you're happy that oil is circulating, then put clean plugs back in, check and clean points, and give it a whirl, if it starts - don't rev it about 1200 - 1500 for a few minutes.
