Guest tr7fire
Hi, im sure some body could keep me right on this one. I have just bought a shell for a tr7 as i already have a suitable complete 7 that i want to transfer onto the newer shell. could some one tell me what i need to do with regards the V5, and would the car keep the donor cars reg or do i need to use the reg from the newer shell. any help on this matter would be appriecated. Many thanks Neil
jonlar
Not 100% Neil, but I think the new bodyshell identification and VRM would have to be used.
ngtf
Difficult one this as the proverbial grey area exists! Some re-shelled 7's have simply had the vin plate moved onto the new shell as well as the reg plates so no-ones the wiser. I am certain the law states otherwise but how would you prove the car has been re-shelled anyway. Certainly those that I am aware of have simply moved the vin and reg plates over thus avoiding any conflict or change. Regards Gary

Cinnobar
Just move the VIN & the plates over, DO NOT get DVLA involved otherwise life will be very complicated. I say no more!
