PYU940F
I have had a twin rear box stainless system fitted since 1986. It has lasted well and absolutely nothing wrong with it. For a '67 car it is in truth the wrong system as I think that year had the transfer box, but I liked the look of the twin system. However, I have never been happy with the exhaust note, the transfer box was much sportier. The twin system sounds tinny and is so quiet I think I am driving the first electric TR. Looking at the Moss catalogue it looks like the front silencer of the twin system (HRSU1224) can be substituted for the "Y" piece (FSTH56) of the transfer box system. Is this correct? If so, would running just two rear boxes be far too loud? I cannot believe it, I am sounding like a 18 year boy racer not the mature (sic) retiree that I am supposed to be. peejay4A
Remove the front box. I did and it's fine.
Robin Powell
I removed mine, it breathes better and you get a nice resonance from about 2,200 revs.
PYU940F
Thanks, is it a question of just substituting thefFront box with the "Y" piece. i.e. a straight swap? Simon
peejay4A
It was a straight swap for me.
PYU940F
Great, I like simple jobs although am tempted to get Mr. exhaust to do it.
