TR4 ABM 75B formerly 5678D

Recommended Posts

I have the full DVLA history for the car, and through that and the Heritage Cert I wonder if anyone can help with early history. The car was registered in Kent on 1/9/1964 with reg 5678D, so obviously a cherished plate. It was in the possession of the first owner until 1984. It was then, on changing hands, that the age-related plate ABM 75B was issued.

The Heritage Cert shows the car was in New White, but there appears to have been an alteration to Signal Red in this first 20 years (first DVLA doc shows last page of original log book with colour "tippexed" over and altered to red).

Can anyone help with details of why the colour was changed? Was there a need to give the car a major overhaul? The car was given major surgery in 2006 and remains in pristine Signal Red condition!

Any help gratefully received. Best wishes. Willie
