RonA
When I changed the diff mounts recently I took the opportunity to change the oil, it was about 10/11 years old and done about 45000 miles, it was black like old engine oil but still reasonable viscous and 'oily', any suggestions as to why it's black? the diff's in good condition, no whines, leaks or excessive backlash. I also took the opportunity to drill and tap the boss on the bottom for a drain plug as I've never liked the idea of not being able to change the oil. RonA
Mark69
Mineral oil oxidizes ,when this happens it turns the oil black. Time to change
