iain Posted June 20, 2013 Report Share Posted June 20, 2013 Last recorded public appearance was Nov 1958, being driven by Mike Hawthorn the recently crowned first British F1 Champion. The event was the Ken Wharton Memorial Trophy Driving Tests. This was a demo drive vs "Buttercup" driven by Ken Rawlings. Reported and photographed in Autosport Nov 14. 1958. This event was also broadcast by the BBC on one of the first ever editions of BBC"Grandstand". Does anyone have access to this on Archive? It would be fantastic to see! VHP then disappears. Next known owner is Mr John Owen Morgan, Mickleover, Derby. 1966-68. Not managed to trace Continuous History since then is then The Personal Service Garage, Mickleover, bought by the co-Proprietor, Mr Ken Rushbrooke. I have spoken to his brother, but he rememebers nothing about VHP, his brother was tragically killed weeks after purchasing the car. then David G Watson Derby 1969-1970. Not managed to trace then James Mahoney, whom i knew, 1970-72. Worked at Rolls Royce Derby Hugh Wilson, who originally co-owned the car with Peter Snell, 1972-1978. Friends of James. Hugh Wilson and myself 1978-1989 Hugh Wilson 1989-2010, car taken to the USA from 1989-1996 approx. Myself 2010-current Any information would be greatly appreciated.
