jemgee
I have a new distributor to replace the existing. Looking at the Brown Bible it appears very straightforward. Before releasing the clamp I would ensure that the rotor arm is on cylinder 1 and hopefully not have any problems except I need to ensure its on the firing stroke. However I am a bit concerned about comments on the drive to the MU etc. Can anyone put my mind at rest?

If you have just removed the distributor body, and do as you outline above you wont have issues with Mu as the drive dog will not have moved, Unless you move the engine with dizzy out.
