NAT
I have a 1959 Peerless, and I am having a problem trying find a key for the drivers door, all the Wilmot Breeding keys are far to big, there is a no stamped on the base of the barrel and if I can find out the letters/prefix for a very small keyhole I can get one cut or replace the barrel and key.any ideas? stuart
I would have thought it would be either FP or FS or even FR series key which is a small key anyway. Numbers should be on the barrel i.e FPxxx or FSxxx or FRxxx Stuart.
Frank
NAT: The key will be a Wilmot Breeden FS. These are available in the UK as blanks at most high street key cutters. You can make a key from the blank to fit the lock by filing it away until all the tumbler plates pull in to flat. The locksmith will do this (for a price) but it's actually easier than it sounds. If the whole lot has gone west then it's possible to drill out the pin that retains the end part with the tongue on, and machine (shorten) a BL Mini lock barrell to fit. Good Luck!
