Badfrog
Hi all, Some guy overhere put long plugs (NGK BP6ES) in a TR4 alloy head. Now he complains the car does not run well (backfire on acceleration). Is that a major mistake or I am blonde ? Cast iron heads have shorts plugs (BP6HS) so why should it be different in alloy heads? Rhodri
A longer plug will run hotter if the thread is exposed in the combustion chamber. This may well cause pre-ignition. Rod
Badfrog
mystery solved: it was a bad recollection when typing the post. Logically, he should have exploded the pistons at first run with long plugs. Ze french, you know how zey are ... Badfrog
