Tony Millward
Hi Paul, You really need to get a Moss catalogue as there are heaps of drawings and descriptions in there which will very likely answer most, if not all, your questions....something to read in bed.... As regards ditching the cutout, this is not recommended with fuel pressures at 105 PSI. You can fit a Ford or Rover type in there instead...Ebay has lots. badshead
Can I ditch the engine cut out switch and short the wires instead (previous owner reported problems)? Paul You should retain the inertia switch for safety reasons, but no need to ditch the original switch unless you're in a hurry to spend money. You can ease the base out of the switch with a small screwdriver - you'll see a little peg that you need to release from the casing. Then you just clean up the brass contacts and put it back together. For reassurance you can test it before refitting, give it a very firm shake and you'll hear the magnetic ball disengage and the button pops up, just as it will in an accident.
