Dazzer
Hi Guys Has anyone got the spec on Stromberg needles generally? For example TR4 uses 2A needles but 2H is specified for 4A, is the 2H a slightly richer needle full stop, or is it richer mid range or top. Is it perhaps like the 7a and 6J changeover on the 150CDs on early 2000s, GT6s etc ? Which is richer a 2A or 7A ? Basically which way do the numbers run to specify the characteristics of the needle. Bald Rick
Hi Darren I've got a book on tuning Stromberg CD carbs. It has a load of charts in the back. I don't know if they will have what you are looking for but if you pm me your email address I will scan them and send them to you. Tony
johnny250
The 2H is richer than the 2A over the whole range....with the exception of dimension 5 (of 13)that is slightly leaner! 7A is richer than the 2A over the whole range john
Dazzer
Thank you Tony PMd Thanks John, this is now becoming more interesting as the standard lean needle in a 1998cc Triumph 2000 MK1 with 150CDs is richer than a 2A standard needle on a 2138cc TR4 on 175CDs. You would logically think more air requires more fuel if of the same % proportion. I'm of course ignoring the different engine specs and just comparing cubic capacity. Well I guess its experimentation time. Cheers Darren
