JJC Posted October 10, 2009 Report Share Posted October 10, 2009 Need a bit more expert advice on oil seals, the one in the timing cover for the crankshaft this time. The replacement I've just bought is not the same as the original I took out so it's not obvious to me (lack of engineering knowledge) which way round it goes. I would guess it would have the lip pointing out so the crankshaft passes through in the same direction as the lip, not against it. But years of experience have taught me that what might seem obvious to me is probably wrong. Expert advice needed please. JJC Quote Link to post Share on other sites
