'66 tr4a
I am trying to get my mechanical washer pump working (66 TR4A), unfortunately with little success. Do I need to bleed the resevoir and screen jet hoses?
67_gt6
hi, I have had success with taking the hose out of the reservoir, remove non-return valve and, holding it vertically, slowly fill it from above, thus driving out the air. Then re-fit non-return valve and replace hose into reservoir. andy
JeffR
hi, I have had success with taking the hose out of the reservoir, remove non-return valve and, holding it vertically, slowly fill it from above, thus driving out the air. Then re-fit non-return valve and replace hose into reservoir. andy I had a similar problem - check the metal ball in the non return valve in the washer bottle hasn't got stuck due to corrosion or dirt as mine had. Having unstuck this vave I then disconnected the plastic tube from the top of the washer bottle and injected water up into it from a bicycle pump filled with water to refill the system. Worked a treat! Have to do this every year before each MOT as the washers are hardly ever used. Best regards, JeffR
