swapping a TR6 J-type OD for a Dolomite Sprint same

Since my gearbox and/or J-type OD might need revision, I have been looking for spare gearboxes and J-type OD's. Found one of both, complete incl. OD. If it were just for the OD, and wanted to use the Dolomite Sprint gearbox OD (only!) would that mean a simple swap (unlikely IMHO) of OD's or is there more to it than just that (probably....)
