Tony has a hardtop for sale, you may have noticed?

From time to time it is lamented in these columns &/or the mag, that there is little apparent interest in TRs in competition. I suspect that there's actually quite a lot of interest, and if people knew what events were on, they'd be quite likely to go along.

Not just the major events like Le Mans, Silverstone, Goodwood, but also the local events at Prescott, Shelsley, Donington, Cadwell, etc.

I bet if people knew in advance, more would go along and spectate, local Groups could do a communal outing.

And spectating may lead to participation.....

So I would like to suggest that you competitors start a thread in all of the Fora, make us aware of your upcoming events. If people are interested, they'll already know, you may say... Yes, but that's a closed circle: I'm talking about spreading the word. A recent post about Shelsley, for example, got three times fewer viewings than one about the heater valve in a TR4.

If it's put under peoples' noses you'll get the attention of those who would be interested, but just never get around to finding out.

So I'd like to suggest you post not just in the Competition forum, which I'm sure people rarely think to look at - including me - but in all of them. Try it. Wouldn't take long to copy & paste.

As Tony has done with his hardtop.

"The last two events of this season coming up Prescott on Sunday 28th Sept with a really full TR entry ranging from a very pretty standard 3A through to a full house V8 which I shall attempt to beat with my 5!

Secondly Castle Combe on Saturday 18th October.

Everyone welcome.

Regards

John "
