marvmul
Is Quaife the LSD type relying purely on gears (coupled small gears that bridges the sun or planet gears)? Then no special oil is required. Salisbury and other clutch type LSD's need special oil. Millers has two LSD oils : the semi-synthetic CRX LS 80W90 :cheaper or less expensive than their full synthetic CRX LS 75W90BM : this latter oil is advised by Millers for LSD as well as for dog gearbox's. Some advised against the use of this oil in gearboxes, because some components of the oil would burn with very bad consequences for the gearbox. Don't know how sure this is, nor if the use in LSD is a bad idea also. The semi synthetic Miller CRX LS 80W90 seems to be very good in clutch type LSD differentials, according to some people who actually are using this oil. But for quaife LSD, I suppose the quaife specific gears need the same oil specifications as the other gears in the differential (EP).
