trerynn
I am fitting a two speed wiper motor to my tr4, I would like to confirm the sweep angle. Also despite following the wireing instructions for the wash wiper stalk as supplied the motor will not run, emitts a buzzing sound which changes with the speed selection. Meter readings show power and earth are present. Solutions please.
knapman
Hi Trerynn Doesn't sound like an original motor going by your post (wash/wipe stalk). A modern motor will be -ve earth but the TR4 is +ve earth although wouldn't have thought it would make any difference, just go in reverse. Try just connecting motor direct to the battery & see if it works then. Other than that, not sure. Best of luck Bob K Just had a thought, my wipers stopped working after the Winter lay-up, the grease had hardened in the mechanism & prevented the motor moving the wiper arms, disconect motor from the wipers and try it alone. piman
Hello Trerynn, what is the 2 speed motor from? you will need to see how it is connected on the car that donated it to connect it correctly. Don't worry about polarity as most motors are not polarity conscious. I'm assuming that the motor itself is in good condition. Incidentally I fitted a two speed motor to my MK 1 2000 saloon, but that came from a MK 2 saloon so I used MK 2 switches also. Alec
