knapman
Hi All Am thinking of replaceing the outer bearings on the back axle (solid) of my 4A after this summer season & want to aquire any special tools i will need over the next few months. It seems i will need a hefty Hub Puller of some sort also something to remove old bearing off the half shaft (any recommendations?) Anyone had experiance of doing this job? Would it be more cost effective to remove the whole axle & have it rebuilt? All opinions appreciated. Bob K
ianhoward
Andy I did this on a TR4 a number of years ago - I took the half shafts to a garage/machine shop who managed to remove the bearing easily (having a press!). Didn't cost much either if I recall. Brgds
