john.r.davies
Hey, this looks fun! Saint Saturnin Classic British Welcome http://www.classicbw.org/uk/index.php As advertised in the February Courier (an issue not to be missed by Aces fans!) this event could expand our enjoyment of the CLM! Anyone been before? Is it just a street shindig, or is the show ground worth a visit? Is the Grand Parade de Pilotes an SSCBW thing, or is this the CLM version? If it's SSCBW, has there ever been a Triumph team in the GPde P? Surely the TRS and ADU 1 would qualify? JOhn
john.r.davies
Ahem. I have been politely informed on another MsB, that I cannot read a calandar. The SSCBW is associated with the 'proper', 24hr Le Mans, and is therefore a whole month earlier than the CLM. I'll get m'coat. Guest Wayne S
For those interested in this during the "real" le mans this year I received this from the organiser of the St Saturnin Classic British Welcome 2008: "Note in your diary that the CBW 2008 will be held on Friday 13th June - doors open at 09h00. 2008 theme Ferrari with special emphasis on the 50th Anniversary of the Le Mans win of Phil Hill/Olivier Gendebien with 250 Testa Rossa in 1958. Just come and soak up the atmosphere, the beer, and hopefully the sunshine!" See you there! Wayne
bat10man
I have attended the SS Classic British Welcome for the last three years Each year this event gets bigger, I would recommend going as part of the trip. The turnout of cars and atmosphere is terrific. followed up by going into the town centre for the drivers parade. I do not know if a similar event is planned for the classic. I have attached a shot of my car parked there a couple of years ago. regards Andy
