Spax shocks - ok, refurb or replace??

I've started the restoration of my TR7V8, and stripped the front suspension off.

 

Looking at the spax strut inserts they have several rings of rust on the chrome damper tube, presumably where the strut has sat in differnet positions whist its been in storage for 8years!!

 

I'm not sure whether these will be ok (seals etc), or whether I shoul dreplace them as a matter of course, any suggestions??

Update:-

...I seem to have answered my own question, looking at the damper tube now ive stripped the struts down, they look pretty bad, so new it is.

I agree with you there they do look a bit ropey,no use taking any chances.

Not worth getting them refurbed, easier to replace the strut inserts.
