Andrew Smith
For background and further information please see: http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index....showtopic=10483 Hi fellow Sidescreeners Just a 'quick' update on planning progress for the 3A’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations at Malvern: With the help of Alec Pringle, I have secured four sponsors today for the award categories/suppliers as follows: 1. ‘Most Desirable UK TR3A at Malvern’ - Revington TR 2. ‘Most Desirable Overseas TR3A at Malvern’ - TR Enterprises 3. ‘Longest Owned TR3A’ - Moss Europe 4. ‘The Wooden Spoon Award’ – ‘Stuart’ Edwards (Watermill Carriage Co) Prizes will be awarded on the Saturday afternoon (the most popular day) in the arena and are for fun only – no polishing the car to death needed! To keep the administration simple and manageable, the following selection and award criteria is to be applied: ‘Most Desirable UK & Overseas TR3A at Malvern’ The winners of the awards will be selected by staff from Revington TR and TR Enterprises for their sponsored categories and each winner will receive vouchers for goods and services from the respective suppliers in the arena. Awards will not necessarily be for concours 3As, as cars which are desirable in other ways stand an equal chance e.g. a 3A that remains largely unrestored, used regularly or cars which have been tastefully modified etc. ‘Longest Owned TR3A’ (suggested by RichardTR3A) In order to enter, owners will be required to complete an entry slip (available at the 3A static display in Wye Hall) giving ownership details i.e. name, reg no and length of ownership – it’s no more difficult than that, but if owners do not enter then they cannot win or moan! The winner will receive Moss Europe vouchers for goods and these will be presented in the arena by Moss staff. ‘The Wooden Spoon Award’ Stuart will personally select 2 or 3 contenders from the 3As in attendance and invite the owners and cars into the arena on Saturday afternoon where the crowd will be encouraged to vote with ‘cheers’ for the car of their choice following owner interviews with Steve Redway. A great fun way to encourage vocal crowd participation! Stuart will then present the Wooden Spoon Award to the lucky owner! In the meantime we need to fill one side of Wye Hall with 3As, so can 3A owners who wish to participate in the TR3A’s 50th Celebrations please PM me so I can start allocating cars to slots. That said, there’ll be plenty of 3As at Malvern on the day – so keep an eye on your windscreen for a flyer and listen out for tannoy announcements. Finally, the 50th Anniversary could possibly be the biggest gathering of TR3As ever and will be recorded in the Register's history. Cheers Andrew
