Thanks.

Are you loosing brake peddle with pad knock back?

I had this problem with a Morgan +4, pad knock back, & early bearing failure.

When some older cars suffered stub axle failure, we grafted heavier stub axles onto the Morgan suspension slider, as a safety precaution.

As this cured the other problems, we assumed it had been flexing stub axles causing them, & leading to stress cracking, & failure of the stub axle.

We are putting wider wheels, & much better tyres, than these cars were designed to handle, on aging components. The forces we are developing were unheard of, wheh these cars were designed.

I've had a problem on my car with bearing wear - fixed it by using waterproof grease and fixing the smaller bearing on the stub axle (it's a very tiny bearing) with some loctite stud and bearing.

TSI in the USA do modified hubs with larger bearings - I know rimmer bros import their stuff if that helps.

Front stubaxle and bearings should be up to the job.

Check for wear on the stubaxle, as this can cause excessive wear and play on the bearings.

As Hasbeen says it's old stuff and you usually don't know what the PO's did with it.
