Rear Shocker Conversion Mod

I did a mod during the winter to the rear shocker mounts that others might be interested in.

I have the telescopic conversion that mounts on three points, two where the old lever arm mounted and a third where the bumpstop used to be on the chassis, I have always had bother on one side in particular with the two main bolts slackening ever so slightly over time allowing very slight movement of the bracket with the accompanying clunks on a bumpy road, even longer bolts with nylocs didn't completely cure the problem, only lengthened the time between tightenings. I presume this is due to the bolts being a clearance fit in their bracket holes rather than a tight fit.

Over the winter I decided to weld the mounting plates to the old shocker mounting brackets on the chassis using three heavy tack welds, now that the car has been on the road for a few weeks it seems to have been well worthwhile for the small amount of effort involved, the whole back end of the car seems firmer and quieter on poor road surfaces. [plenty of these round here!]

I was a bit unsure of welding them at first, but eventually reasoned that it was highly unlikely that I would ever want to remove these brackets but if the worst came to the worst and for some reason I did, tack welding would be easier to remove than seam welding.
