The engine rotated the wrong way round so we had to turn the back axle upside down to compensate!!

Yes but the engine has a titanium shield around that area, we added a 1/4 inch steel plate transmission cover and the engine itself had an overpseed trip system that we had tested.

What ho TR competitors. Some of you may remember me from years past. I won the Hillclimb championship in 1992 also went off and did 6 years in the race Championship. I've been away until recently mainly boating but have now decided to come and have another go at the hills. It would be nice to win again after 26 years!! New steed will be a 3.9 litre class 2B 7V8 which I have a whole winter to fettle into competitive shape. As you can see the car is a very pretty one and my wife has warned me not to go off at: bunny's leap, the gate, sawbench, ashes, quarry, camp, ettores and a few others (not that I have ever done that before!). Looking forward to seeing y'all next year.

Yes it is Hughs' car and there is a lot of machine going for not a lot of money. Fully prepared shell, with gearbox, 5 linked axle with lsd and discs, Sorted front suspensions and brakes, even a complete exhaust system. But it will need a lot of work and a max chat engine will be quite a lot. But when I did the races series with the Spitfires, some of them were spending more on their motors than we were in the V8s and ours didn't blow up every other race!
It would be nice to see someone take this over and get her back on the hills.

I'm planning to change the CWP and fit an LSD to my TR7V8 axle. Does anyone know what size of spanner one needs to undo the nut that holds the pinion in place? I did one of these many years ago but can't remember ( I know its quite large). I don't want to have the whole thing apart and then find I'm stuck without the right one.
