  1. More confused than ever now,

My cars a cp54, i think, [thats what the vin no starts with]

Sounds like i can do what i want as there are lots of conflicting views.

Still like the chrome strip. can someone tell me where i can get it from as its not in the moss or rimmer catalogue

    Thanks ian

  2. First one will seem a bit stupid. But i bought the car as an abandond project in boxes and only have manuals as a reference,so not sure how everthing goes together.

Do the fuel pipes and the exhaust go through the hole made by the 2 plates in the chassie under the propshaft?

Anyone know of a cleaner I can use to get my brake fluid reservoir back to white instead of yellow as it is now

    Thanks Ian

  3. Hi, anyone got any pics of how the brake pipes are run from the flexy pipe to the drum at the back and how they go round the front suspension.

I can't find any good pics in any of the manuals i've got

Also what colour should the cross tube be [the bar that goes between the front suspension in front of the engine

    cheers Ian

  4. Thanks for the info guys. This is turning into a right mare, i was planning on having the tub in paint by the end of summer but i don't think that will happen now.

Put new inner and outer back panel on it which was a walk in the park, then thought the front panel and front inner wings could do with changing. The new panels don't fit, nothing lines up, nothing is level, well p----d off.

So now have to build the car with self tappers then take it apart and weld it up, not happy its going to take forever

  6. Hope youve got a workshop manual, parts book and a haynes manual to help you along,as otherwise it just like a jigsaw puzzle!

Tell me about it Give me a mk2 escort anyday.

Got a workshop manual and a moss catalogue.

  7. I expect alot of you will think this a stupid question but how do you bolt the tub to the chasis?

I'm new to this tr stuff [ always done fords before this] i bought my tr as an abandond project in boxes and i don't no how to put it together

Anyway i want to put the tub on the chasis and i've got this bag of bolts, rubber pads, metal plates and thick c shaped washers and i don't no where they fit.

I know where the rubber and metal plates go but in what order? do the rubber bits go under the tub and the metal plate on top?

Where do the c shaped washers go?

Last one do you just bolt the tub down or do you have to put packers in where the tub don't tuch the chasis
