Normal shock absorbers work in both directions, I find it strange that lever arms would only work in one...

I also had problems with the Kenlowe controller so I fitted a temp switch in the radiator, works a treat now.

Clarkey, if you get the 2 pipes that go through the chassis on the wrong side it will be a bugger to fit correctly (ask me how I know.... )

Hi Al,
Your butterflies need setting up correctly. The easiest way to set these up is with a cigarette paper. Remove the control rods and adjust each butterfly until it starts to grab the paper in the port. The paper is 2 thou thick and is a good start point for setting. When you have adjusted the clearances reconnect the control rods (3 of them) and adjust for correct length. Then recheck the butterfly clearance.

Removing the original fan is fine (after fitting an electric one), but make sure everything is working well, engine and rad flushed and clean. I fitted a Kenlowe electric fan as on the suction side and removed the mechanical. fan. We get pretty hot temps here in Oz which seems to get warmer sitting at traffic lights. I haven't experienced any over heating whatsoever. My fan is wired so that it can run with the ignition off...cools the engine down lovely after a run and I don't get vapour lock problems. I also have an overide switch fitted but have never had to use it.

Haven't had any of those problems.
I just get people looking at my recent paint job asking what colour I am going to paint it.

Those holes were the only part of my sills that didn't rust...
Luckily, we don't have that problem in Perth....

Hi Pierre,
Before you go removing bits and pieces make sure the the oil is not coming from the gearbox selector oil seals, they are well know for this.
See this previous chat about it:

Soldering an olive to stainless is a total waste of time. Aralditing a tight fitting olive is the way to go (as Graham suggested), indeed, this is exactly what I did and have had no problems.
