  2. Hi Dude,

Two types of HS6, differing by air filter bolt number: volvo, 3 bolts, Uk cars: 2 bolts.

Also different from H6 (more anatomical differences: venturi length and fuel bowl).

Any 1.75" or 2" carb will bolt on your manifold without problems.

H6 and HS6 can vary in jet size (0.09 or 0.1") and the needles also vary according to the car. The KD needles from a Volvo 122S 1.75" HS6 SU carb are way off specs for TRs.

Get the SU specs for your specific car and rebuild your HS6's accordingly.

    Cheers,

these are on a volvo just trying to get a bargain

  5. Hi with the white stuff all around I was wondering how good a TR4 is like in snowy conditions?

I say this as I have a new BMW 520d-fantastic car......... BUT on a totally flat road and 3 inches of snow it was completly stuck today :angry:

So (apart from being FUN as the 4 is rear wheel drive) does it have natural GRIP in the same way a Mini an Imp or a Beetle seems to have in slippy conditions?

Just wondering...mines "rugged" up in the garage ;)

sounds like fun in the tr to me if in doubt flat out me thinks

  10. hi dudes i need a new brake master cylinder moss want £136 ive found on the net a company who do girling master cylinders for £ 42 also a firm on ebay for the same the only differance is the push rod end this is threaded so you can ajust it anyone got any thoughts on this or tell me where i can buy one for the write money regards gary

  11. DCOE 45s will fit fine if your engine has been breathed-on a bit. If not, get the SUs/ Strommies set up correctly (much cheaper/ fuel efficient/ better bottom-end performance)

If you're buying second hand, check what chokes/ jets/ emulsion tubes etc etc are fitted as it can get very expensive resetting carbs especially if you have to factor in a rebuild too.

Don't forget, the only way to properly get webers set up is to get on the rolling road.

There are faster ways of using unleaded petrol, but not many!

    (they do sound awesome though)

    Ade

thanks ade want some nice sounds from under the bonnet as im thinking of selling my 5 and havin a works rep made out of my 4 with some grunt hopefully

  12. Hi

The Moss catalogue 08A March 2008 page 27 shows the later type master cylinder bracket which has a switch mounting bracket to accept the electrical brake switch ( shown on pages 60/61).

Earlier cars had a brake switch which was operated by the hydraulic system, plate 3-201 Triumph TR4 & TR4A Workshop Manual, and therefore didn't need the additional switch support bracket.

I've got a spare of each type.... so depending on "what you have got " please PM me if you have the wrong one. (I need to weld on a captive nut on the early type )
