I’m fairly sure that the fishing village was Looe. Marius Goring also starred in what was obviously a budget film with a a plot typical of the early fifties, not very convincing.

You are both probably right about the location. I had no idea to be honest.

Don, I did own 3 sidescreen TRs. My first TR, a ‘54 longdoor 2 was bought in 1962. Unbeknown to me at that time, prior to the previous owner, the car was used as a publicity car by Triumph. I attach a link to an interesting clip of film of the car featured in a film made about 1955. It was called “Break in the circle” also featuring Eva Bartok and Forrest Tucker. The car still exists I believe owned by a Register member but is in need of renovation.
The photo is of my wife and I leaving for a short honeymoon in 1965. As we all often say, “wish I had it now”.\

Yes, cut vinyl Don. As for the carpet, I find it easier to keep clean than bare concrete. Having said that and despite a large drip tray it has still marked it’s territory in true TR style.

I was always a little uncomfortable with my TR7 V8 being badged as a TR8 so I decide to re badge it. I couldn’t find anyone that sold the badges that I needed, so after contacting several decal makers who either didn’t reply or who weren’t interested in a small job, I discovered Smithy Signs near Dawlish in Devon. Within a week of providing him with the image and font that I needed, I had the decals.
Admittedly I only needed the TR7 V8 decal to match my existing decals but it came out at £25 including postage. A good result I think!
I can’t recommend this chap highly enough so if you need anything made up, I’m sure that he can help.

Gosh, I was thinking about them recently. I thought that by now they would have given up B&B. Please give them our warmest regards although I doubt they will remember us. we were so fortunate to have discovered them. Prior to that we regularly stayed at the Nags Head pub for what at the time was good value. However I believe now that for the MM and Revival they are charging close to £350 per night.
Unfortunately me knees prevent me from enjoying my trips to Goodwood and soon my driving days in TRs, I’m sorry to admit. My wife and I enjoyed 10 years at the Revival though, happy days!Enjoy your visit, best regards, Rodney.

Thanks Don, the Sebring photos are excellent and I’m sure that even without the codes his very competent paint man can match those colours.
Best regards, Rodney. -
I’m wondering whether anyone can help me with recognisable modern paint codes for both Beige and Sunset Red which were used in 1957 for both Jim Clark’s and Nancy Michell’s TR3s.
Thanks in anticipation, Rodders. -

I’ve just had another excellent experience with Paisley Freight. 4 wheels with tyres were picked up from near Glasgow at 10am one day and delivered to me, 10 miles from Lands End in Cornwall the next at 1.30pm., how’s that for service? The cost, £40.

I’ve just watched a very entertaining Lavant Cup race at the Goodwood Revival. You can watch it repeated on YouTube later by searching lavant Cup 2022.
Brown & Gammons, despite the fact that I believe their car failed to start the race because of mechanical problems, should be more than happy as I’m sure they will no doubt sell out of body panels and mechanical bits on Tuesday.

If you missed it keep an eye open on BBC1, the games will be on for 12 hours a day. I’m glad that I don’t pay a licence fee.

As a result of the recent high temperatures I decided to stock up on supplies, just in case. However, I bought some powdered water but don’t know that add to it.

Thanks for that Keith. I must admit to being reluctant to cut the boot although I had thought of it.
