I’ve owned my TR6 for 27 years now and in the early days I used to be able to drive in to any tyre centre and they’d be able to deal with my wire wheels. Now nobody will touch them.
Who do people use for fitting new tyres (I’ve already got the tyres) in the East Midlands? I’m in Leicester.

Looks a little wet and windy for the run down, but should be nice and dry once we get inside.

It’s definitely on then? Weather here (Leicester) suggests it shouldn’t be!

Wanted in working condition.
Cheers!

Whilst I respect and love the attempts to do this "old school", why don't you just GPS your speed with a smartphone to convert?
Would love to, would they be able to do that but my old speedo went “POP!” last week!!

Hi,
are these still available?

Roll the car for one wheel revolution, chalk line on tyre and set square to make sure its vertical at beginning and end.
5280/distance in feet = revs /mile
If you have enough space, then ten wheel revolutions and use 528/distance - lessens the error.

Hi John, the car is on old (wrong size) tyres at present.

A long shot but has anyone got the figures for the number of turns of the inner speedo cable their car makes with ten turns of the rear wheel?
Your car needs to be identical to how mine will be;
3.7 diff
25% J type OD
195/65/15 tyres
cheers,

Thank you. Just one further question.
Is the black on the sill the same satin black as the rear panel?
Mike.
I believe it was a textured 3M style sealant rather than just paint, but I’m sure someone will confirm or otherwise.

Jake,
Your TR6 is lovely. For insurance purposes, I would put a value of £22-£25k all day long
Tom
Thank you Tom. As I think you know I’ve owned her since I was 22. I’m 50 this year!

Mine will be even more difficult to value.
ex USA RHD conversion
owned for 27 years
Older restoration
massive history folder
many recent upgrades
rust free
Im wondering whether £15k is enough, too much, or about right?!

Has anyone got a link to an accurate grid showing TR6 values? The ones in the magazines never seem to change year on year!

Please could someone post a picture of the felt on the TR6 boot board runners showing if it wraps around the end of the runner where it clips under fuel tank board? Ta!

Does anyone know which type (1, 2, or 3) the TR Enterprises telescopic conversion kit is? It is part number TRE3225 but it gives no info or pictures on their website. I’m guessing it is one they make themselves.

The original 123 can be set to any requirements you need.
I thought it was limited to 16 presets?

Yes, the corner pieces on saloons are identical. However most people know this so you won’t find them much cheaper off a saloon!
Make sure you don’t get the ones with the holes for the rubber strips though (different part number), unless you are happy getting the mounting holes welded over (original rubber strip ones come up much more often, even NOS sometimes).
See here for confirmation of the interchangeability:

Hi Peter,
The engine is CC783xxUE.
I’ve checked with a couple of the specialists in the last hour too and they say they are interchangeable, and have said the same as you about valves.
Very helpful Peter, thanks.
