Jeff,
Couldn’t agree more. That’s why I had a load of 16P calipers fully and properly professionally rebuilt.
They are now for sale - see other posts!

Graham,
Morgan is largely Italian owned these days, and the McLaren Group is majority owned by the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Bahrain.

Graham,
i may have something knocking around. How quickly do you need them. Failing that, if you want to come over to Southam, I’ll happily crimp on some terminals for post connections as per the ammeter I recently sold to someone else. These may be safer than blade type terminals.

Rob,
Your rear valence is very repairable. I’ve seen worse panels put back to the correct shape by good body people. I think Roger has a good plan for your sill. Failing that, I can probably supply a good pair of skills along with a front valence.

Sold, but not via this forum. It’s gone off to a new home in a TR4.

I've used Envirostrip in the relatively recent past for my 1949 Land Rover, having used SPL for other panels on a TR4. They both caused problems with panel folded edges and seams etc, and I wish I hadn't used them.
For my current TR3 racecar project, I had the chassis, body tub and all panels glass bead blasted and primed by a local firm (just south of Stratford-upon-Avon) who do a lot of very high quality work on expensive classics - flat floor E-types short wheelbase Porsche 911s etc. They had previously blasted the front end of a TR4 for me.
I'm very pleased with the outcome.

I have a pair of Girling 3 pot calipers for sale. Literally just refurbished by Bigg Red. I collected them yesterday. These are a straight fitment onto a TR without any modifications.
If you’re going to the International in Stratford, let me know and you can see them - I’m local.

I’d have suggested send them back and buy properly reconditioned ones.......

I’ll be collecting the refurbed calipers from Bigg Red just before the Stratford International Meeting. If anyone wants a set of these calipers, or a pair of 3 pot Jaguar ones which are a straight fit on a TR, or a pair of type 14 calipers, please let me know and I will bring them with me for you.

Dave,
I’d suspect from any MGB parts dealer.

Probably the wrong place for this topic/post.
However, I have this one cluttering up the workshop and am open to any sensible offers via eBay. I’d love it to go to a new home.
if it’s of interest, please make an offer, whatever you feel it’s worth to you.

Hi John,
I can’t help with these items and I don’t know who can.
However, if the rubber components are NOS, won’t they be ‘past their best’?

I have a load of original Girling 16P brake calipers that are about to be refurbished by Bigg Red. I have had one pair finished in black to go behind the black wire wheels on my BRG racecar.
my plan is to have these plated (not painted) in either the original type gold or silver. There will be new pistons and seals etc. Basically, they will be fully reconditioned and ready to fit.
The point of this post is to ask that if anyone is looking for a pair and wants then done in a particular finish, let me know as I will be taking to be done next week.
Price depends on finish.
Final point is that these are original castings and not the repro ones!!

My only question is what original bits are you missing?
Revington is correct in that you need the matching gauge and sender if you are to use original parts.

Chris,
I'm in Southam, Warwickshire. Very close to where Honeybourne Mouldings are based. Just up the road from the motor museum at Gaydon.

Andy,
I’ll need to check, but I may have a header rail. Not got any levers.

I’ve got a number of TR6 rad shields.

Panch,
Ignoring the legal and insurance issues, which in my opinion is a bad idea, a practical consideration is simply that should you get a puncture and need to fit your ‘space saver’ spare wheel, where are you going to put the full size wheel you have just removed? You’ve told us that there is no space for a full sized spare wheel to be carried.

I’m looking for a set of RHD brake and clutch pedals for my TR3b.
I have the set that came out of it but these are for a LHD car and I’m converting it to RHD.
Interestingly, it’s been a racecar all of its life in the US and now it’s going to be raced in the U.K.
If you have a set of RHD pedals lurking somewhere, I’d be delighted to buy them from you - please send me a PM.
I'm aware that I can heat and bend the ones I have, but I’d rather not do this.

CDD is Classic Driving Developments https://classicdrivingdevelopment.co.uk/
They are geographically very close to where I am.
I am open to offers for everything but would think that a secondhand trailing arm should be something like £100.

Andy,
Before you remove the liners etc, it may be worth measuring the liner heights and seeking advice. You’re going to have to remove the cylinder head whatever you do.
it is possible that you may be able to solve your problems by simply using the ‘modern’ cylinder head gasket from Racetorations - the one mentioned by Drewmotty.

Chris,
If you decide you don’t want to refurbish your calipers, I have a number of sets of refurbished calipers for sale. They were refurbished by Bigg Red and have been totally stripped, castings have been replated and then rebuilt with all new pistons and seals. They have a 12 month hydraulic guarantee from Bigg Red.
if you, or anyone else wants a pair as a discounted price for TR Register members, do let me know.
