Adrian,
One tip, when you fit the new seals make sure you drive them square so they go fully home. If not they may leak again after a while - no points for guessing how I know.

Iain is correct although I haven't actually seen it to confirm. Words to this effect plus pictures of the Bardon accident in TRaction 291 p21

I have one spare weekend ticket (including a grandstand seat) for the Members Meeting on April 9th/10th. If you haven't been before it is a really great event, like the Revival but without the crowds and you can also get into the paddock areas. Tickets are limited but this package would be currently be £230

Price £150

Our clinics were always by appointment and worked very well. Received my invitation for a booster today, unfortunately also today I have just tested positive for Covid so it will have to wait for 28 days. Despite having taken high doses of Vit D for a good five years.

Many thanks Rob, that is what I was hoping.

Yesterday I found my TR3A had a completely flat battery. On charging it up the ignition warning lamp was faintly glowing, all the ignition controlled items could be operated without switching the ignition on and when those or the lights were switched on the warning lamp came on brightly. After checking for obvious wiring faults behind the dash I decided to isolate the alternator, when I reached into the gloom to remove the two wires I noticed a slight sparking. The insulation on both wire terminals had worn away (presumably by repeated slight movement) so that they were touching intermittently.
My question concerns the terminals on the alternator, are the two large terminals connected and equivalent as if so I could use the one furthest from the small terminal which should stop this happening again? Fingers crossed that the alternator itself has not been damaged.

That's an age related plate, probably an import. Coventry never got as far as reverse three letter issues before year suffixes appeared.

My condolences to you all. I first met Dave when he very kindly invited us with caravan to be part of his group's stand at the Town and Country Festival in I think about 1981 rather than let us remain out in the field. Since then I have bumped into him at countless meetings and always had a good chat about TRs and Coventry. A top bloke who will be much missed.

Has anyone had any issues with the automatic renewal at 70, and reduction of groups permitted to drive?
John.
If you want to retain minibus driving entitlement I think you need to apply manually and have a medical. Also I have heard of people losing their motorcycle entitlement, best to check new licence carefully against the old one.

Unusual to hear anything positive about the DVLA these days but on Sunday evening Marilyn applied online to renew her driving licence. The new one has just arrived in the post this morning.

Always had fibre washers on mine, never had any sealing problems.

Who did the work, not based in Hykeham by any chance?

Also the Richard Dimbleby lecture given this year by Dame Sarah Gilbert.

At least I know that auto electrical spares (and others) stock the seals, glass and bezels if needed.
Be careful who you deal with

We switched to fibre with Plusnet a few years ago, unfortunately it was only to the cabinet and we are the last house in our area so speed was a claimed 15mbps but often much lower. Spoke with BT and they installed a fibre supply into the house from a pole nearby in the next area. no set up or installation costs and speed could be 900mbps although we choose to have 50 (upgradeable) to keep the cost to £28/month.
There is a company called Swish installing fibre in some southern areas, despite some wild claims they have said I would be unlikely to improve on my BT speed.

Good idea thanks Stuart, I'll let you know how I get on.

Just to update this. Money successfully refunded to my credit card via chargeback, very quick and easy.
Now need to source some bezels, most suppliers want to sell you them with new glasses and rubbers which doubles the price. Does anyone know of a supplier who will just do the bezel alone? They are for sidescreen speedo/tacho.

I use Aspen alkylate fuel in garden equipment, more expensive but the machinery seems to run better. Also far less noxious fumes from the exhaust.

BCL prices are always OTT in my opinion. Look out for Cibie / Valeo H4 7" lamp units, they have a realy good beam shape, & work well with either Halogen or LED bulbs. (My favorite LED conversion supplier is classiccarleds.co.uk (no connection, but very satisfied (& regular) customer.)
Bob.
I use these as well and am very happy with them.
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think these PL700 lamps were used on TRs, they used the P700 with a Lucas logo. However the greatest number of cars (those destined for the USA) would have had sealed beam units as these were obligatory in the US.
If anyone is interested I have a pair of Lucas P700s still in their Unipart boxes.
