Due to the Big C and chemotherapy I could only work on the car for half an hour I removed and cleaned all LT connects. A member of LVG came to see me at home. He mentioned the coil. The car had a Bosch coil that looked very new. I put the multi meter across +be and -ve of the coil. At 200ohms it should read between 0.4 and 2.6. ....it read zero. New coil and bingo. Why didn't the TR specialist check out the ignition.... I'll tell you why all experienced mechanics have left. The 2 mechanics that are currently there are decent blokes but both came from modern cars

Hi everyone. Thank you for your help. Very much appreciated. I will definitely take both of your advice. I may not be able to let you know how it goes for quite some time as I am in hospital ( big C ) so when I am on my feet again I'll be sure to sort it out following your advice. PS the TR specialist had my car for 3 weeks!! Thank you once again

Hi I live in Broom Bedfordshire literally just off the A1 in the village where LVG meet. Points, condenser and rotor arm from Distributor Doc. Plugs from Green Spark plugs. I bought both NGK and Champion I think it is an electrical fault so just ordered Magnecor HT leads. If no joy a quality distributor cap. If no joy then maybe consider the coil? What do you think?

I have just got my car back from a well known TR specialist where they set the mixture on the carbs having had the carbs balanced previously. The timing is good, plugs ( I have tried both NGF and Lucas should I try a hotter/colder plug) Previously I had trouble with the timing strobe, that was the HT lead on number 1 cylinder that was previously poorly fitted so should I change all the HT leads? Points and condenser are quite new. Is it jets/needles? There is a miss fire at high revs which the TR specialist garage says is acceptable...... Though it is not acceptable to me.

Hi I lost Temp & Fuel gauge so I replaced the voltage stabiliser and all was well. However yesterday I was at a TR meeting and the rain meant I put on the heater to clear the windscreen and lost Temp and Fuel gauge. It is the first time this year that I pulled put the Heater Blower motor switch, I never used the original voltage stabiliser along with the heater blower switch ever. As soon as I close the heater blower switch both the fuel and temp gauge work again with the new voltage stabiliser However as you can see from the photos the original had what looks like a ca

Hi I'm back my winter break. I'm not sure how to butt up part 806144 and 650312. Also the site will not let add more than 2 photos so I will send one separately. Does the door window push them together? Also on part number do you use glue or double sided tape?

Hi The previous owner used the foam tubing (all along the length of the Surrey top) an example of the width as seen in the photos, this did stop any water getting in in the front corner but pushed the door glass outwards leaving a big gap where the glass in the door meets the Surrey top on the side not the roof so water could get in there. I temporarily used a length of U shaped rubber but I want do a better job Can anyone advise which profile of a foam seal they used on the front corners. The photo shows daylight which I wish to make watertight.

Hi With not knowing where new "Armstrong" lever arm shock absorbers are made am I best getting mine refurbished rather than buy new? One is leaking where the arm meets the body of the unit so changing oil etc will not cure it. If refurbishing is the consensus where do you recommend I send them. Regards Paul

Hi Can anyone recommend a good route to Stelvio from Calias and then onto The Dolomites. A suggested town to stay in whilst discovering the Dolomites would be most useful.
