  1. Rob

    Many thanks for your thoughts.

Have been messing about with it this afternoon and everything seems okay in what you suggest,

but still cannot switch it off.

Going back to my 2 speed wiring loom and I do not know what is happening. Yesterday if I just connected

the brown/green wire it worked okay via dash switch , but today if I connect brown/green wire only it will not work via

dash switch but if I connect just the red/green wire it works.

The motor was a refurbish one and is in  good condition and nothing look amiss , so more head scratching.

  2. Afternoon all

Subject covered many times , but still cannot solve it.

Wiper motor DR3A continually on when ignition switched on.

New dash switch , new cover switch on motor , but still works continually even

turning round cover switch 360 degrees.

Couple of question that have cropped up talking to various people,

Why does live feed to motor go through voltage stabiliser?

I have single speed motor DR3A but a wiring loom for a 2 speed motor DR3

Does both brown/green wire and red/green wire from switch need to be connected to motor?

Seems to work okay with just the brown /green wire connected only, but I have thought to have

solved it in the garage before only for it to play up when out on the road.

    Any advice appreciated

Thanks for replying. I did contact Paul and he said they only sell recovered seats

they have in stock and currently do not have my choice of colour. Also they do not collect

or have seat delivered. Long way from where I live.

  4. Hi

Have Mazda mx5 seats in my 4a and looking a bit worn and weary was thinking about getting them re upholstered

Have contacted a few suppliers with a wide variety of prices coming back.

Was looking at the Moss ones called Essex , but they are supplied as complete seats .

Has anyone had their seats done to the same standard as Moss Essex ones (slightly bulkier than Paul Bishop ones )

and happy with the outcome  especially comfort.

    Cheers

  5. Hi all

Having problem with wipers coming on every time I turn the ignition on.

Sometimes they just do one sweep and return to park other times they stay on

until I pull the live wires apart in engine bay , the switch will not stop them.

If they do one sweep and then stop they will then operate normally via the dash switch.

Have replaced switch, no difference , have taken motor out and checked seems okay , have

replaced earth cable on motor. Car is totally restored and everything is quite new. Everything

else on that fuse works okay.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

  6. Have solved it similar to what you suggested Michael but got away with just drilling the pedal shaft

a shade bigger. As the roll pin is held by the lever holes that did not affect the tightness too much

and the extra movement allowed the pin to go through .

    Thanks for the suggestions

  7. Hi

Have had a problem with the pin holding the lever assembly on to the accelerator pedal

rod , it is a new type cotter pin easy to remove, it kept lifting. On inspection the holes on the

lever assy are not lined up through the middle of the round section ( part no. 106753 ), so the pin

will not go all the way through. Does anybody have a spare one. If not will it be possible to weld one

    hole up and redrill.

    Any solution appreciated.

  8. I was doing a search of cars for sale and came across the attached one. Was very interested in the

cover over the handbrake for my 4a. Spoke to the seller but no joy and numerous other parties without

success. Does anyone know where it could have been made. It looks like it is moulded in one right up

    to the gearstick.

    Cheers Alan
