  1. Delighted to read this thread as I am just putting the dash back together on my 250 and have the push spring but no electrics so have been wondering what I did with the light when I pulled it apart and where the wiring is on the new loom. I will sleep easier tonight....LOL

  2. I am  just commencing rebuilding the tub of my TR250 and   whilst I am not aware of any rust damage to the plenum chamber  I have been interested by the various discussions regarding the drains pipes protruding up into the chamber itself such that there is always some residual water left in there to aid future rotting.

Would it be sensible to cut the existing drain pipes out and "glue" a plate with flush drain pipe welded to it over the hole ? I have already fitted all the heater and under dash stuff and do not relish having to undo and redo this work to facilitate in situ welding!

    Any ideas welcome

    Thanks

  3. Thanks Waldi. I rigged up my heater for a water pressure test today and it burst at 0.5 bar. I had intended taking it up to 1 bar. The plan was to test it before reassembling the dash wiring etc. and I was surprised that it went at such a low pressure. I think plan B now is to buy a new matrix, so another case of one step forward and one or two back!!!!

  5. Could anyone advise a sensible pressure to test the heater matrix on a tr250 please. My  gut feeling is that the system should be designed to  withstand the radiator pressure relief  cap plus a safety margin.I do not want to reassemble my dash and find I have a faulty matrix!

Thanks in advance for any responses!

  6. I am converting my TR250 to RHD. The solenoid was originally positioned above the right hand side footwell in a position now occupied by the clutch master cylinder support bracket.

I am proposing to make a bracket so that my solenoid can be shifted slightly towards the centre of the car in a position parallel to the clutch support bracket but       am curious to know how others have dealt with this matter.

I have looked for the solenoid on my TR6 but cannot see it!

Any contributions will be gratefully received

    Cheers

  7. I am in the process of restoring my body tub on my TR250 and the paint shop have asked me whether the front upper valance panel is to be painted body colour or matt black. I  seem to recall that it was body colour when I stripped the car down but I would appreciate confirmation of this point

    Many thanks in anticipation
