This is terrific thanks Deggers…….. I’ve only just seen it after being away in Istanbul…… My dog has clearly let me know what she thought of that

Many happy returns Nigel…………
My boys got some sort of version years ago and again no TR…. However, they did have a pristine Lotus Elan Sprint the same colour and spec as mine….. when I sat down to show them how it should be done, the technology told me I was not qualified to drive that model?! ….. Got to start with a Nissan Micra or similar….. (and then the dog knocked the box over.. so we will never know..
Agree with Bob…..’on paper’ well driven side screen TR would see off everything on that particular grid…. MG should rapidly disappear into rear view mirror (what is the other ‘Noddy car"? ) Morgan, as ever, would provide some competition if in the right hands and set-up!
Looking forward to someone tracking that game down….. (no pressure Hamish .. Deggers……)

Buy you a beer when and if we can finally catch up…

Happy birthday John, have a good un…

Pretty impressive Guys…. 1953 250 MM Spyder…..Dumpy little thing compared to the much prettier 375 that came along shortly after? - Only my opinion of course

Mine - late 3A - were maroonish red colour fitted from new, I repainted same colour (nope, definitely not concours but very much original) when I refurbished them a few years ago…….
Must not be driving hard enough anymore as I don’t recall the paint having any particular flame proofing characteristics

If being deported counts as having a criminal record, the next time he goes to Oz he should have no problem gaining entry:)
Very good…… and, as I’m sure you are aware, guaranteed to have our Aussie cousins fully wound up…… Don’t ask me how I know..….…
Ah, alright then…… Many, many years ago I was in a taxi chatting happily enough until the cabbie happened to point out a nondescript house that he said Ronnie Biggs had lived in undetected for a number of years…… To which I mentioned something along the lines of maybe it was difficult to spot him amongst all the other convicts…….. Next thing I was out on the pavement of some suburb miles from where I wanted and needed to be?!

……….. And he’s the first athlete in history to be banned and deported for NOT taking drugs!?

True some new what they were doing, but not many. Other were plain lucky :-)
(I have always been taught, Slow in, create a bow wave and then maintain that speed on LR off-road courses.) So far its worked....
Yep Iain, agree…. I was also told (at least try to) keep the revs up!……..
However, nowadays think I’d be more inclined to pull up the alternative route on Google maps..
-
Nah, that’s not fair Iain……… At least 50% made a good job of it and all where entertaining…… Keep em coming Deggers !
…. Just not sure (was it Polish) I the foreign registered car got home?

3-phase is great Nigel, not only for lifts but for ‘proper’ heavy duty welding kit, compressors and (say) generator when Putin turns the gas off…… It is definitely no more than 1.5 x more complex than single phase..

Quite an amazing story.
The link mentioned before :
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=140&t=1867424&i=0
goes into a lot more detail towards the end.
A bit heavy going getting there, best to start at page 6
Charlie.
Yep interesting, thanks for posting / sharing JOhn …………. Still convinced (only my opinion) that the XK13 is xxbetter from the same time…….. That is my all time, top of the list, car I would want (only as custodian) …… Other opinions/ opinions welcomed….
…..Have a Happy New Year all..

Stag
Bob
Nope Bob, very late Spitfire……. Still pretty enough (and Stag like) at the back but ugly US spec at the front end….

That’s you Hamish…!
However, very, very impressed with you and JOhn……. The one and only One of that particular old Jag…. (Norman Dewis walked away after barrel rolling it at 130+mph)

……. Light blue and less than 1 mile last year?
-
Thought it was an old Trabby
-
The Spitfire is pristine (much, much better than it came out of the factory)……… and has not turned a wheel in the last five years…!
The (bright red) Ferrari is also immaculate and is used one day per year locally..….…..…
Anyone else got a picture of something a bit interesting underneath an old tarpaulin?…… Bring them on

Neighbour’s trampoline just set off the length of the garden and tried to launch itself through his window!?
