Quite correct Ian a cars fitted with L.S.Ds. are always checked using a decelerometer & the results
entered onto the system, if not the test result will show brake effort not recorded & a failure
will be issued.

The class 4 test manual states that a speedometer must be fitted to vehicles from 1st Oct. 1937
that have a speed over 25 mph. Section 7.8 defect (b)ii states a none functioning speedometer
is a major failure, but if the vehicle is not road tested ( ie decelerometer test ) you should only
reject the speedometer if it is clearly not working.

Same thing happened to mine, there was enough material left to machine out & fit over size thrust bearing.
The only repair is metal spraying, but difficult to guarantee no dirt inclusion where the face meets the journal .
Crankshaft repair companies can offer a service.

Diagnosed with prostate cancer 15 yrs ago after a routine blood test, 16 sessions of radio therapy & still here to tell the tail.
Please all you men over 50 have an annual P.S.A. blood test. When caught early carcinoma of the prostrate is very treatable.

Just a thought remember all those Morris Minors in the 60s at the side of the road with one of the front wheels hanging off using the

If it is a MOSS pump kit i believe the pump may be a Sytec, but you will find the make & part numbers
have been ground out.

Just an update on the two part exhaust valve collar. With regard to them spinning out of the six exhaust valves
in my engine only one had been turning in operation, the seat was still nice & shiny & looked like new after
approx 120.000 mls. All the others were the usual black.
